An offshoot of Rotary International, Probus was founded in 1965 in the United Kingdom by three Rotarians who were fast reaching retirement age. All three were concerned about keeping themselves mentally and physically active after retiring.
Probus Clubs provide fun and friendship for retired and semi-retired people. They provide opportunities to make new friends, learn new skills and explore new interests and hobbies.
Probus is a not-for-profit organisation and is non-sectarian, non-political and undertakes no fund-raising activities.
It offers exclusive discounts through the Probus Member Benefits Scheme plus exclusive travel insurance.
All members and visitors are covered by Personal Accident insurance whilst attending an “approved” Probus activity.
We meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month except December. Our meetings are held at the Tewantin Noosa RSL club. The meetings start at 10.00 a.m. with morning tea for which there is a small charge. There is ample underground parking at the RSL.
At 10.30 there is a talk by an interesting guest speaker chosen to either entertain our members and/or keep them up to date with important local issues and happenings. After the meeting we enjoy a game of Trivia and most members continue to socialise by staying on for lunch.
Our members are constantly suggesting new activities and are kept up-to-date by an excellent monthly Newsletter.
